Donation Policy
We always appreciate the generosity of our donors. Sometimes it is necessary to say no to some items. Either due to current government regulations or the lack of need for certain items along with the high cost of recycling. The list below will help you with items we accept and items we cannot accept.
All donated items must be in good working order.
We gladly accept all kinds of gently used and like-new:
Clothing & Shoes: Ladies, Men’s, Children’s, Baby’s
House wares: dishes, pots/pans, cooking utensils, silverware, glassware, knickknacks, bowling balls, towels, curtains, drapes & rods, collectibles.
Furniture: Chairs, tables, bookcases, dressers, wood desks, couches, lamps, area rugs, patio furniture. Note: The Hartford Store is only accepting Small Furniture. Metal Bed Frames - at the Slinger Store Only
Toys: games, puzzles, stuffed animals, action figures, dolls, cars, trucks, etc.
Baby items: walkers, changing tables, cribs, highchairs, playpens, strollers, swing, car seats, toys.
Sporting Goods: Bicycles, Scooters, Skis, Skateboards, Snowboards, Skates, Golf Clubs, Large Exercise Equipment at Slinger Store Only
Pet Supplies: Gently used collars, bowls, cages, tanks, toys, etc.
Electronics: LED & LCD TVs, radios, small appliances, mini fridges ok if working, portable stereos, vacuums, DVD & CD players, microwaves, game consoles, computers, laptops, printers, cellphones, clocks, accessories.
Medical: wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, toilet seat risers, shower chairs.
Books/Movies/Music: CD’s, records, hardcover/paperback books, DVD’s, magazines.
Other: Hand tools, power tools, gardening tools, garden decor, garden pots, flashlights, fans.
E-Recycling at all Stores!
Fees must be paid for in the store before driving around to Donation Area.
$20.00 recycling fee for CRT (tube style) TV’s and Computer Monitors 30" and Over
$40.00 recycling fee for Console, Projection, & Plasma TVs
We are accepting all other home electronics for free donation / recycling including Cell phones, Computers, Laptops, Tablets, VCRs, DVD Players, Microwaves, Printers, Game Systems.
All we ask is that you please let the donation worker know if the item is working or not.
No Large Appliances, Light bulbs, batteries, or items with refrigerant will be accepted.
Items we cannot accept:
Chemicals of any kind including paint, stain, appliances with Freon (air conditioners, freezers, refrigerators), large appliances, hot water heaters, built-in dishwashers, organs, pianos, ping pong tables, pool tables, entertainment centers, metal desks, waterbeds, mattresses, box springs, futons, building supplies (doors, windows, lumber, toilets, etc.), tires, batteries, bed frames, encyclopedia sets, child car seats 5 years or older, drop side cribs, no toiletries, no food, and no liquids.
All donated items must be in good working order.
